Templates
Templates tell Boswell what kind of meeting you’re in, so the resulting Enhanced Note has the right sections for that conversation. A standup gets a different structure than a discovery call.
How templates work
Section titled “How templates work”Before (or at the start of) a recording, choose a template for the session. Boswell uses the template to:
- Label the note — the template name becomes part of the note’s title and details.
- Shape the sections — the summary and structured sections in the Enhanced Note reflect the template’s focus areas.
- Guide extraction — action items, decisions, and highlights are pulled with the meeting type in mind.
You choose the template per meeting.
Built-in templates
Section titled “Built-in templates”Covers the structure of a regular one-on-one: agenda, wins, blockers, and next steps. Good for manager check-ins and peer syncs.
Standup
Section titled “Standup”A leaner shape for daily standups: a concise summary, action items, and the full transcript. Keeps the note short when the meeting is short.
Planning
Section titled “Planning”For planning sessions — scope, decisions, owners, and the open questions to carry forward.
Discovery
Section titled “Discovery”Focused on the goals, pain points, and verbatim quotes that matter in early customer and user-research conversations, so you capture what people said, not just a paraphrase.
Boswell also includes a few focused note styles you can apply — Interview, Lecture notes, and Decisions only — when you want the summary shaped for that kind of session.
Choosing a template
Section titled “Choosing a template”Select the template when you start a recording. If none of the built-in templates fit, you can record without one — Boswell will still produce a complete Enhanced Note with a general summary and action items.
Related
Section titled “Related”- Enhanced Notes — how the note is structured and what each section contains.
- Recording & transcription — starting and stopping a recording.
