Every new Boswell account comes with a free month of Pro, no card required. After that month, you can subscribe to keep Pro features, or drop to the permanent Free tier at no charge.

What’s included in Free

Free is a real, permanent tier — there’s no trial clock and no lock-out. You get:

Record everything: meetings (system audio from Zoom, Teams, Meet, etc.), voice memos, system-wide dictation, and imported audio or video files
Live captions
On-device transcription using Apple’s built-in speech recognition
Two-sided transcript — your voice and the other side, captured separately
Auto-detect meetings with a notification to start recording
Read, edit, and keyword-search your transcripts
Copy transcript as plain text, or export your notes as Markdown
The Enhanced Note — AI summary, key points, decisions, and action items, generated on-device with Apple Intelligence

All transcription, captioning, and the Enhanced Note run locally on your Mac.

What Pro adds

Pro is the workflow layer on top of Free:

Translation — translate a transcript into another language
Connect your own cloud AI provider — use a model like GPT or Claude for summaries instead of the on-device one
Email support, usually with a same-day reply

How to start your free trial

The free month of Pro starts when you sign in to Boswell on your Mac — you do not need to enter a card or visit the website.

Install Boswell if you haven’t already — grab the download from meetboswell.com.
Open Boswell and sign in with your email address. Boswell sends a magic link to your inbox; click it to authenticate.
Pro activates automatically. Once you’re signed in, your free month of Pro is active. No code to copy, no activation step.

After the trial

When the free month ends, Boswell reverts to the Free tier unless you subscribe. Your recordings and transcripts are untouched either way — they stay on your Mac.
